GENERAL

About the exam

NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) is a standardized test that nurses must pass to become registered nurses (RN).

This licensure exam independently verifies your nursing knowledge and your ability to safely practice as a Registered Nurse.  Every nurse before practicing nursing must obtain an RN license by passing NCLEX in the United States.

Steps of the NCLEX® Exam

1. Application :

Apply for licensure/registration with your Nursing Board. Applications of US-Educated nursing students usually get forwarded from their schools electronically. Internationally educated nurses on the other hand need to verify their credentials through CGFNS or the State Nursing Board to get their Authorization to test (ATT) numbers.

2. Registration:

Register and pay the exam fee online or by calling Pearson VUE NCLEX Candidate Services at 866.496.2539.

The candidates will receive Authorization to Test (ATT) email from Pearson VUE. You must schedule your exam within 90 days of receiving the ATT.

3. Test Fees :

Candidates Seeking U.S. Licensure and taking the exam in the U.S.- $200

Candidates Seeking U.S Licensure and taking the exam outside of the U.S- $350

4. Scheduling :

There is no set date for the NCLEX exam. The candidates must schedule their exam themselves online or by calling Pearson VUE NCLEX Candidate Services at 866.496.2539.

5. Results:

You may get your unofficial results within two days online, however, the official results will arrive in the mail.
